Walters Waterhole

Walters Waterhole is located in Misty Mountains, Wooroonooran National Park. To get to these falls drive to Ravenshoe if heading south stay on the Kennedy Highway until you get to a turn off to Tully Falls Road (17°36'57.9"S 145°29'13.9"E) turn onto this road. Follow Tully Falls Road for almost 17km at this mark (17°43'53.0"S 145°32'25.1"E) there will be an area to pull over on the left hand side and park the car, this is the beginning of the walk to Walters Waterhole.

The walk to the falls is just under 5km one way. The walk is easy as the majority of the walk is along flat ground and the forest canopy covers the track keeping you cool. There are some small areas where there is a slight incline to walk.

Once you reach the creek you will notice there used to be bridge that ran across for the old logging tracks. Turn right and follow the creek downstream, it is best to stick to the northern side of the creek. As you get to the large waterhole continue walking downstream, here you will find a refreshing place to swim (17°44'04.4"S 145°34'08.9"E), sit under the waterfall and jump from the surrounding rock cliffs into the water. Remember to check the water for any logs submerged or rocks coming out.

Unfortunately I didn't take any more photos but I plan on returning and taking more photos and add them here.
