Getting There:
Behana Gorge turn off is about 10km from the Gillie Range turn off, heading south. Turn right off the highway and onto Behana Gorge Road follow the road for approximately 4.5km here the road will end with a gravel area to park the car.
The walk begins at the car park where you will see the large concrete path that looms off down into the forest. The walk is a total of 3.3km one way, the walk starts with an inviting decline, however from here the path is majority up hill, steep in sections however most of the way is just a gradual climb.
If you don't plan on walking the entire distance or get so far and decide its to much for you, look for a path off to your left, as there are many paths along the track leading to the creek for a nice relaxing swim. Most of the time you are no further than 100m from the creek while on the path.
The walk to the end however is truly worth it, beautiful waterfalls and water cascading over the rocks, the water is nice and cold as it rolls in off the high surrounding mountains of Bellenden Kerr & the Goldsborough Valley.
Please note to take care when swimming up around the falls as the rocks can be slippery and remember there can submerged rocks and logs especially after times of heavy rain fall.
