Peet's Falls

Peet's Falls are located in the Goldsborough Valley situated about 30mins out of Cairns on your way to the Gillies Highway. To get to the start of this walk head along the Gillies Highway when you get to Peet's Bridge cross there will be signs pointing towards Goldsborough Valley Camp Grounds, about 400m after passing the bridge there will be a narrow road on your left called Downing Road, take this left and continue to follow the road, you will go over a causeway as the road swings to the right, from here continue driving past the farmers house, from here you will go over a seconds causeway and from just after this I believe it may go to private property so drive respectably. Follow the gravel/dirt that stays closest to the rain forest, in the corner of the cane paddock are some rocks and lots of pink ribbon to identify the start of the walk.

The walk itself is extremely easy and just over 2km to the top falls, the track is well used and stands out, the majority of the track has also been well marked with pink ribbon. The last 150m you walk up along the creek to the falls.

This is falls one of three I would say to see the others means climbing over each lot of falls to  see the next which are all equally as impressive as the one before. To get on top of these falls there is a path however. When standing from about the distance this photo was taken from the falls on the right if you you look up the mountain you will see a little path that you can follow up, rope has been placed from a tree at the top to about half way down to help you climb up/down. Once up the path goes off to the left where you can then follow it to be on top of these falls.
From here to get to the second falls walk along the creek for about 100m and you will see the seconds falls which are even bigger than the first, you will also notice as you continue up the falls the view down the valley gets better and better.
Unfortunately there is no track to get around or climb to the top of these falls that I could see, I climbed up the first and second section on the right hand side before crossing the waterfall and climbing up the rest on the left side.

Once on the top you are able to look down the valley as the cool breeze blows along.
